The heavenly hell of the Philippines
January 2020, I have almost 3 weeks of vacation left, it's the middle of winter. My head is full of thoughts about sailing, about sailing far away, where I've never been. Last year, around this time, I decided to sail to Greece, and in April 2019 I did it, it was an incredible experience. Now it's time for something new, I'm thinking, March, sailing the Adriatic and beyond, maybe Malta, Sicily,... No, too much winter time, I'm not saying a weekend or a couple of days, but 3 w

6th regatta around island Krk – TOK 2019
This year, Timy, under the auspices of JK Krka, participated in the 6th edition of the regatta around Krk for the third time. 24 sailboats gathered at the start in Selce, which were divided into 5 categories. As every year, the regatta starts on Friday at 7 pm. Due to work obligations, travel and transfer to Selce, we arrived a little late, so we missed the introductory meeting of the skippers. This was followed by registration with the organizer, where we received a start nu

Sailing Greece - Part 6
Thursday, 16.5.2019 After a peaceful night, it's time to continue our journey. The sun comes out in the morning, the sky is clear, there is no wind. We slowly count the miles to our home port by motor. The weather forecast shows that the maestral will strengthen during the day. Since it is finally warm and sunny, it's time to lie in the sun and enjoy. Timy sails past Šolta towards Rogoznica, the wind strengthens a bit, and it's time to raise the sails. The closer we get to Ro

Sailing Greece - Part 5
Sunday, 12.5.2019 Timy sails into the dark night, past Albania and Italy, the night is calm, there is little wind, because there is still a signal on the phone, I check the weather forecast again, which does not show a very good outlook, because there will be more than enough wind and there will be no shortage of raindrops. However, the end is slowly approaching and it will be necessary to sail to the safe home port. Since the south wind is forecast, this means that the sea w

Sailing Greece - Part 4
Thursday, 9.5.2019 Timy left Kefalonia early in the morning. Again full of water and food supplies, he continued along the coast towards Lefkada and then on or back towards the island of Paxos on a motorboat. There was almost no wind, but it was sunny, so he sailed on the motor for a while, thus fully charging the batteries with electricity. Between Kefalonia and Lefkada, the turquoise color of the water could already be seen in the distance, but this is not the shade of colo

Sailing Greece - Part 3
Tuesday, 7.5.2019 After yesterday's hard sailing, the long-awaited shelter offered by the cape of Kefalonia was a perfect place to rest in the cove of Foki beach near Fiskardo. Even in the shelter, the wind was still howling down the hill, so that at times the wind gauge showed over 20 knots of wind. I didn't worry, as the Wasi anchor and enough chain provided a safe anchorage. In the morning after a well-deserved coffee, the time came, the anchor was back in place, and the f

Sailing Greece - Part 2
Friday, 3.5.2019 Kalimera! Anchored in the shelter of the first Greek island Othonoi, and took a little rest. The journey through Greece begins, which I am very much looking forward to. As we sailors say, favorable winds and calm seas :) Raised anchor and literally sailed with 25 knots of wind towards the island of Corfu, of course, it was not without the company of dolphins this time either. Arrived at the first larger island of Corfu and anchored a little west of the town o

Sailing Greece - Part 1
Njivice, Sunday, 28.4.2019 In the evening, when the sailboat was filled with all the necessary supplies, the tanks filled with water, Timy sailed from the safe harbor. With a light bora wind with a few small raindrops, he slowly sails south. Monday, 29.4.2019 On the way through the Senjska vrata, the wind strengthens to 30 knots, but the direction is very favorable as it blows half astern, which allows for fast sailing at a constant speed of over 7 knots. It has been raining

Anchor chain
We have it! A new chain of course, the old one was worn out, individual links were already badly worn, it was no longer safe to use the old chain, so we replaced it with a new one, but the same 10 mm hot-dip galvanized one as before.

Antifouling
Like every year, this year too, it was time to clean the underwater part of the hull, which we did in Crikvenica. Even before the actual lifting on the crane, we noticed early in the water that bubbles had appeared only on the keel, which meant that the water had come under the protection itself. First, we lifted the sailboat on Friday evening and cleaned it with water pressure. When the hull dried, we first tackled the keel, which we sanded live. This was followed by a few c
