This year, Timy, under the auspices of JK Krka, participated in the 6th edition of the regatta around Krk for the third time. 24 sailboats gathered at the start in Selce, which were divided into 5 categories. As every year, the regatta starts on Friday at 7 pm. Due to work obligations, travel and transfer to Selce, we arrived a little late, so we missed the introductory meeting of the skippers. This was followed by registration with the organizer, where we received a start number, completed the formalities and took over the GPS tracking device. We headed to the start line, where we were accompanied by up to 15 knots of wind. The direction of the regatta was counterclockwise around the island of Krk. After a fast start, there was almost no wind and the sailing speed quickly dropped and differences began to appear between the better lighter sailboats. The weather was forecast to be sunny and remained that way throughout the weekend. At sunset, we sailed towards Jadranovo and the bridge to Krk. There was occasionally more wind in some parts, so that the big differences between the boats were constantly increasing and decreasing, which made the regatta very interesting. After passing under the bridge, the wind strengthened slightly, so that the sailing speed increased to 6 knots.

The moon slowly rose behind Velebit, and its reflection accompanied us throughout the night, which was much easier for us because it was not such a dark night. We sailed towards Glavotok, where the wind dropped again, and we slowly progressed to a max of 2 knots. As we approached Plavnik, the story completely turned around, the bora started to blow, the sailing speed increased significantly and real adrenaline sailing began. A few sailboats remained between the town of Krk and Punat. The closer we got to the Senj Gate, the stronger the wind and the bigger the waves. Luckily for us, the sun started to rise, as we had to start shortening our sails. We slowly progressed and overtook the sailboats, so that before the Senj Gate we managed to sail to the forefront. In the Senj Gate, the wind was already blowing up to 40 knots, and the gusts reached up to 54.5 knots max. Due to the big waves and strong wind, we had quite a bit of sailing excitement, but we managed to cross the gate the fastest and continue towards Novi Vinodolski, making a nice difference to the pursuers. A few smaller sailing boats had quite a few problems with sailing, so they temporarily sought shelter. With great joy, we continued our way towards the finish line and sailed to Novi Vinodolski in 4th place overall.

Unfortunately, we were disqualified because we missed the introductory meeting before the start, where they told us that this year the finish line was slightly different than in previous years, and so we sailed the wrong way through the finish line. With the idea of a good 4th place overall and 2nd place in our group, we were left empty-handed and unplaced. This year's regatta was won by the Molo Longo sailing boat, which also set a new record with a time of 7 hours and 33 minutes. Our time was 16 hours and 7 minutes, we sailed 63.1 NM. The next boat behind us needed 17 hours and 7 minutes.
